Cornerstone Servicing is proud to celebrate Dana Abernathy, CMB, who has been named a finalist for Women in Housing Leadership’s 2025 Laurie A. Maggiano Legacy Award. This honor recognizes women whose accomplishments have left a lasting impact on the industry and advanced homeownership—criteria that perfectly reflect Dana’s remarkable career and influence.
Reflecting on this recognition, Dana shared:

“This nomination is profoundly meaningful. It reinforces my commitment to mentoring and developing future leaders. I believe a true legacy is defined not by titles, but by the leaders we inspire, the professionals we guide, and the lives we touch—ultimately creating a stronger, more inclusive industry for generations to come.”
Since joining Cornerstone as Vice President of Business Development in 2024, Dana has driven the company’s growth by forging partnerships with top IMBs and regional banks, translating complex client needs into actionable solutions, and strengthening Cornerstone’s high-touch subservicing approach. She has helped position the company as a trusted partner by ensuring lenders can confidently manage risk, enhance borrower experiences, and meet investor expectations.
Dana’s influence extends far beyond business development. She has personally sponsored more than 40 CMB candidates, co-founded the Tennessee Mortgage Bankers Association Future Leaders Academy, and is helping launch a similar program in Virginia. A passionate advocate, she has served in leadership roles with the MBA—including Co-Chair of the State Relations Committee, Chair of the CMB Society, and active participation in legislative advocacy through the Mortgage Action Alliance and MORPAC. Her work has earned her prestigious recognition, including the Nashville MBA 2024 Herschel Greer Memorial Award and the MBA’s E. Michael Rosser Lifetime Achievement Award.
Dana’s legacy is defined by expertise, advocacy, and an unwavering commitment to people. Her recognition as a finalist honors not only her achievements but the countless industry leaders and homeowners positively impacted by her vision and leadership.
