The Nashville Mortgage Bankers Association (NMBA) recently honored Cornerstone Servicing’s Dana Abernathy, CMB, with its elite Herschel Greer Memorial Award. This distinction is the highest honor the NMBA can bestow on any member, with only 12 recipients throughout its history. Dana is the first to receive this award since 2002. We are tremendously proud of her many accomplishments and grateful to have her on our team.
The Herschel Greer Memorial Award, named after an outstanding leader in the Tennessee mortgage banking industry, was created to recognize significant contributions to the industry along with recognition in the Mortgage Bankers Association of America (MBA), the Tennessee Mortgage Bankers Association (TNMBA), and/or the NMBA.
Dana is a Master Certified Mortgage Banker® (CMB) and sales executive with more than three decades of experience in the financial services and banking industries. An active contributor and advocate for the mortgage banking industry, Dana has served in leadership positions across local, state, and national industry associations, including Co-Chair of MBA State Relations Committee (2020-2022) and Chairman of MBA’s CMB Society (2016). She co-created the TNMBA Future Leaders Academy in 2018. Dana has also been an avid supporter of the MBA’s grassroots lobbying efforts for many years. She previously served on the MBA Mortgage Action Alliance (MAA) Board of Directors and regularly participates in MBA’s National Advocacy Conference.

The Herschel Greer Memorial Award is the latest of many honors Dana has earned throughout her dynamic career. She has previously been recognized with CMB Society’s E. Michael Rosser MBA Education Lifetime Achievement Award (2022) and TNMBA’s Affiliate of the Year (2018), to name a few.
Prior to joining Cornerstone Servicing in January 2024, Dana served in leadership positions at Computershare Loan Services and National Mortgage Insurance Corporation. She is a graduate of the MBA’s School of Mortgage Banking, MBA Future Leaders, and the Virginia Mortgage Lenders School of Mortgage Banking.
